Once the event kicked off on August 3rd, Paddock had booked a second room.

Hundreds of thousands attended the Lollapalooza festival at Chicago's Grant Park, including Malia Obama, the former president's daughter.

Two "view only" rooms were booked at the Blackstone Hotel during the first weekend of August that had a phenomenal view overlooking the four-day festival and the stages where bands performed. We are cooperating with the authorities on this matter. That said, a senior law enforcement official said that hotels in the vicinity typically have an obstructed view, if one at all. However, he reportedly never showed up at the rooms.

Lombardo said Paddock had 1,600 rounds of ammunition in his vehicle, along with fertilizer that can be used to make explosives and 50 pounds of Tannerite, an explosive substance. Along with the dead, the incident injured about 500 people.

Ms Danley met Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on her arrival to the United States on Tuesday night from the Philippines.

"Anybody that wants to get them is probably just anxious that they're going to be banned", store owner Kellie Weeks told the outlet.

But the 21-story hotel says that no one by that name actually checked into the hotel during the festival, and authorities have not confirmed that it was the same person as the Las Vegas shooter.

Tragedy can strike anywhere and we are just so grateful it wasn't at a festival with an estimated 400,000 people.

Ragne Domaas, of Norway, makes a heart symbol with her hands as her friend takes a photo Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at Las Vegas famous sign near a makeshift memorial for victims of a mass shooting in Las Vegas. Lombardo said that it wasn't immediately known whether Paddock had planned an attack on that event.

The reservation was made in late July, which suggests the killer was planning his attacks for months. "They're going to be around the runners", Riccio said.

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said he was surprised Paddock had provided so few clues, and that has proved challenging.

Lombardo said he didn't know what Paddock intended with the explosives and wouldn't elaborate on getaway plans.

Paddock sent Danley on a trip to her native Philippines before the attack, and she was unaware of his plans and devastated when she learned of the carnage while overseas, she said in a statement.
