Paddock, a 64-year-old gambler and retired accountant, killed 58 people and injured at least 527 others when he used a vast arsenal of weapons to shoot at a Las Vegas concert from a hotel room on Sunday. How is it possible to bring 23 weapons, including multiple assault rifles, into a hotel room from a car-and then store them-without being noticed? What, if anything, did Danley know about Paddock's clearly premeditated attack?

Mesquite police said Paddock did not have any type of run-ins with law enforcement.

Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, 62, who was in the Philippines at the time of the Sunday night bloodbath, was met by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents at the Los Angeles airport late Tuesday, according to a law enforcement official who wasn't authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. The 62-year-old is classified as a "person of interest" to investigators but remains free to go wherever she wants, United States media reported.

"He was shot, but I can not tell you it was the police that shot him".

Some time passed before SWAT breached the door and entered the room, but during that time the shooting had stopped, he said.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said investigators are hoping to get some insight from Marilou Danley on why Stephen Paddock opened fire on a concert crowd from a high-rise hotel room. Eric Paddock, of Orlando, Florida, told NBC News he was "completely at a loss" as to why his brother could have carried out the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

However when asked if he felt any guilt about selling him the firearms, he said: "I don't, no".

Speaking at a press conference, he said law enforcement authorities are in communication with Danley and anticipate "some information here from her shortly".

No one knows why Paddock morphed from a retired accountant to the deadliest mass shooter in modern USA history.

Las Vegas Shooter Benjamin Paddock's father was also a "sociopath" and a killer, it turns out.

Police form a perimeter around the road leading to the Mandalay Hotel (background) after the mass shooting. He reportedly met Danley several years ago while she was working at a casino in Reno, Nev.
