Pakistan Troops Violate Ceasefire, Firing Along LoC Kills Three Minors

On September 27, Pakistani troops had resorted to mortar shelling on civilian areas in Balakote and Manjakote sectors of Poonch and Rajouri districts, respectively, injuring two civilians including a 50-year-old woman.

The official added that the Pakistani forces targeted dozens of villages and posts in Shahpur, Kerni and Qasba sectors. According to reports, a 15-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy were among those who lost their lives in the ceasefire violation in Digwar sector of J&K's Poonch.

Several people also got injured and an Army vehicle got damaged in the unprovoked firing by Paksitan. The most recent incident took place on Wednesday when the Pak troops shelled LoC at Poonch and Bhimbher ali sector.

The Indian Army has foiled an infiltration bid by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on September 26. The exchange of fire between the two resulted in the death of two innocent civilians while five others were injured. Hundreds of border dwellers have been forced to flee their homes due to the Pakistani firing and shelling.


Pakistan has violated ceasefire numerous times in the last few months.

Pakistan said over the weekend that two civilians had been killed in firing across the LoC.

Reacting to these ceasefire violations, Jammu and Kashmir Deputy CM Nirmal Singh has said, "Pakistan is a country of cowards".
