External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to address the 72 United Nations General Assembly on Saturday.

India Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj addresses the 72nd Session of the United Nations General assembly at the UN headquarters in NY on September 23, 2017.

On Thursday, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also said that there is no role for India to play in Afghanistan.

She said while India has founded high-learning institutes like IITs, IIMs and AIIMS, Pakistan has only created terrorist groups like the LeT and JeM. "But if India does venture across the LoC, or acts upon its doctrine of limited war against Pakistan, it will evoke a strong and matching response".

"When we talk of world peace, we mean peace not only among human beings but also peace with nature", she told the gathering in her second consecutive address at the UNGA.

Swaraj went on to urge world leaders to prove their sincerity by reaching an agreement by the yearend on the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism proposed by India in 1996.

Swaraj also said that Pakistan's Prime Minister must answer why Islamabad spurned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's offer of peace and friendship with the neighbouring country.

"Terrorists continue to find support and shelter in countries which use terrorism as an instrument of state policy", the minister said.

Reaffirming the need for early reforms in the United Nations Security Council, the G4 nations have issued a joint statement after a meeting of the foreign ministers of the G4 nations. He said, "Pakistan has faced unremitting hostility from its eastern neighbor" since its creation. "They urged concerted efforts to counter terrorism on a firm global legal basis, under the United Nations auspices, and expressed their conviction that a comprehensive approach was necessary to ensure effective fight against terrorism", the joint statement said. "The fact is that when we are required to fight and destroy this enemy, the self-interest of some leads them towards duplicity". She said, "India has displayed courage & leadership to take tough decisions which have launched interlinked process of sustainable development". The traditional method is through incremental levels of aid and hand-holding. "PM Modi is turning job seekers into job providers". Swaraj also invited Danish participation for investment in India.
