Soon after, New Hampshire Attorney General's Office Tweeted that there was only one person of interest and that person is now in custody.

"Police were looking for a man described as 6'1" tall, with salt and pepper blonde hair, wearing a red camoflage shirt and possibly carrying a camoflage backpack, according to Dartmouth College in neighboring Hanover.

The hospital said in a statement the building is now on lockdown "following reports of an active shooter in the hospital".

Rhode Island State Police say the suspect taken into custody following reports of an active shooter at New Hampshire's largest hospital is a Rhode Island resident. Traffic in the area has been stopped on routes leading to the Hospital, Associated Press reported. As per police, they are investigating reports of the active shooter. Special agents from ATF's Boston office are also responding to the scene.

A family and visitor center is being set up at the hospital in response to the incident.

All schools in Lebanon were also placed on lockdown.

The hospital is about 2.6 miles, or a ten minute drive, from the university.

This is a developing story. DCMS followed up with a report that police were sweeping the campus, with more info to come.
