Monaco question Mbappe PSG loan deal

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is "very confident" that Paris Saint-Germain have not breached financial fair play rules, having been made the subject of a UEFA probe last week.

Mbappe has signed on loan from Monaco ahead of a £144million permanent move next summer.

When asked about his opinions on Neymar's move to the French capital, the three-time World Cup victor and FIFA Player of the Century said: "At the moment the best player in Brazil is Neymar and I think the move for him was very good because there was huge competition with Messi at Barcelona".

As a child Mbappe had supported PSG and that made his decision a lot easier.

"I want to do even better than last season", he said as he was presented to the media on Wednesday.

"It was a wonderful experience".

He said: "It gives me incredible pleasure to join one of the biggest clubs in the world". It was a whole new world.

"I'm starving for trophies and I want to win year after year, starting right now". "But, if players are bought for €222m or €180m, they have an advantage on paper".

He said: "An idea has been reinforced since I was a kid - not just because I went to Chelsea".

"We played against Charlton, I think, and we won maybe seven or eight nil".

"I still think we need that, but I'm not going to wait for the third transfer window to try to reach it". "That's the only difference".

The 18-year-old France global spoke for the first time as a PSG player since his transfer went through last week and revealed his initial intentions to remain with Monaco, as well as explaining his decision to turn down a move away from Ligue 1.
