Huawei wants to take you beyond the Galaxy on October 16, and thanks to a new report from Priceraja and Onleaks we now know what to expect from the Mate 10.

Interestingly, it appears as though Huawei isn't going all out with a bezel-less design like other manufacturers.

According to some rumors in the industry, Huawei Mate 10 will be having regular version and pro-version.

As you can see from the renders, the display runs edge-to-edge, however, the top, as well as the bottom bezels, remain the same.

Another noticeable design change pertains to how the fingerprint reader is now up front just below the display.

There is a front mounted fingerprint sensor which was only on the Mate 9 Pro a year ago. Also, it's not quite clear whether the fingerprint sensor will double as a home button or not. The screen will measure 5.9-inches, and yes Virginia, it will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. If this is true, then the Mate 10's display will actually be also taller.

Despite the caveat, however, that the leading streak could be temporary, given Apple is poised to release its new generation iPhone 8 next week, Richardson said it nevertheless underscores the rate at which Huawei has been growing, driven by consistent investment in research and development and manufacturing, coupled with aggressive marketing and sales channel expansion.

Another big transition is the glass back in place of the steel finish at the rear of the phone. No information was given as to what type of sensors and lenses these cameras will have, but it does mean that the device will have a slight camera bump. "While Huawei has trimmed its portfolio, it likely needs to further streamline its product range like Oppo and Xiaomi have done - putting more muscle behind fewer products". Huawei is particularly proud of the built-in "Neural Processing Unit" or NPU which it claims will make a huge improvement in how its camera performs.

Moreover, Kirin 970 comes with dual image signal processors (ISPs) that will reduce blurring and noise in pictures. The Mate 10 is also expected to arrive with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
