Daniel Craig finally confirms he'll be back as James Bond

But I don't think Craig needs the role of Bond in the same way numerous other actors who have played that role have.

Asked if he was returning as Bond, Craig replied: "Yes" before standing up and shaking Colbert's hand with a grin.

By all accounts, including his own, Daniel Craig had finished his role as the 007 spy film hero James Bond with his previous film. "I went straight into an interview and someone said, 'Would you do another one?' And I went, 'No.' And instead of saying something with style and grace, I gave a really stupid answer".

After weeks of speculation, Craig confirmed his return as the British secret agent to US TV host Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show" on Tuesday night.

There might be time for the Bond film to come; there is already a Daniel Craig film that the fans can go and watch right away, "Logan Lucky". Connery is the only honest-to-God movie star of the whole bunch, and he benefitted from playing the character relatively early in his acting days; while all who play Bond step into the shoes of a cinematic icon, Connery managed to bring that title with him once he stepped out from under the umbrella of EON Productions.

"I've been quite cagey about it", he admitted on Tuesday to US television host Stephen Colbert on CBS's The Late Show. "But I felt like if I was to speak the truth, I should speak the truth to you".

After the release of Spectre back in 2015, Craig famously (or infamously) had some pretty harsh things to say about the possibility of making another Bond movie.

In other movie news involving Craig, he plays Joe Bang in "Logan Lucky", a southern heist comedy, which hits theaters August 18.
