Neymar 'more alive than ever' after winning debut with Paris St-Germain

If Neymar plays like he did Sunday in his Paris Saint-Germain debut in every game for his new club, perhaps the record $263 million transfer fee PSG paid Barcelona to acquire the 25-year-old Brazilian striker will eventually seem a little less insane.

The Catalan club were playing in an El Clasico meeting with Real Madrid simultaneously to their former star making his PSG debut.

PSG won't be banking on this performance as a sign of what's to come in every match for Neymar, however, considering Guingamp conceded the second-most goals of any team in Ligue 1's top 13 last season (53).

Neymar's through ball for Cavani was initially cut out by a lunging defender, only to see the ball fall to Jordan Ikoko, who inexplicably back-passed past goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson and into his own net in the 52nd minute.

Neymar would go on to put a goal and assist to his name. I am very happy and the football is essentially the same.

Emery added that he felt "the team played for 90 minutes with the conquering spirit that we wanted to show", and that "the second half was the result of our hard work from the first".

"I am very calm. With them we are getting to know each other and we will improve".

"It's easy to play with footballers of great quality". There are a lot of top players here - this is a handsome team.

One game into his PSG career and the world's most expensive player has an assist and a goal to his name already in French football.

Neymar declared to media that leaving Barca is far from hard and he is now very happy to be in Paris.
