Los Angeles Dodgers have won again, for the 43rd time in their past 50 Major League Baseball games, in an incredible run that has not been matched in 105 years.

Early on, everything went wrong for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

- Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) August 7, 2017An outstanding night for Hyun-Jin Ryu.

On Sunday, the Dodgers scored three runs in the first inning against Mets starter Steven Matz, and in the third, Justin Turner, the Mets outcast who has become a Dodgers star, hit his 13th homer of the season, a two-run shot that just cleared the right-field fence for a 5-0 lead.

It was the 15th series sweep of the season for the Dodgers.

"Dodgers have won their first six and they'll go for the season series sweep tonight just as soon as the network stooge down there says that it's okay to play baseball".

To put the icing on the cake, rookie phenom Cody Bellinger crushed a two-run homer to center in the eighth inning, to give the Dodgers a 7-0 lead. "That's why at the All-Star break I wasn't anxious about us sustaining momentum or (trips when) you get in late 'Are we going to be up to play the next day?' That stuff doesn't concern me". Despite being the best regular-season team entering the trade deadline, the Dodgers traded for the best starting pitcher on the market in Yu Darvish, and he debuted Friday night with a three-hit, zero-run, 10-strikeout performance.

"I think with his history sometimes that bothers him when he doesn't feel great", Collins said. "You still have to hit off the fastball and he can handle the fastball", Roberts said, "but he has good pitch recognition". "We see how good we can be and we want to continue to be that good".

"We show up and regardless of the circumstance, the opponent, location, we expect to win", Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "We talk about that a lot - from the first pitch having that conviction and attacking the zone which he did all night with his entire mix". I think guys are going to keep going and keep trying to press the threshold for their own personal marks.

"There wasn't any real solid contact, it was just finding holes like those ground balls up the middle", catcher Travis d'Arnaud said. In almost 2,000 trips to the plate in the minor leagues, only 23 of them ended with a home run. "He's got to pitch", Collins said before Sunday's game. Now he's healthy and he's confident. "I know our players and they realize that we haven't done anything yet".

If all of that wasn't remarkable enough, then this might do it: the only team to beat the Dodgers since July 4 are the Atlanta Braves.

Los Angeles crushed the Mets like refuse in a trash compactor, outscoring them 57-15 over seven games and outhomering them 25-11.

Two of those came in Sunday's beating. Turner, who like Bellinger homered for the second straight day, raised his NL-leading batting average to.349.

Turner also doubled in the game and stole two bases, joining Chris Taylor as the only other Dodger on the team to have two stolen bases and a home run in the same game.

Los Angeles is 44-7 in their last 51 games overall and 13-3 in Maeda's last 16 starts while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games overall. It's a bit of a junk stat, but can be viewed as a substitute for "clutch", while keeping in mind that it's team-dependent to some extent (if you have more close games, you have more opportunities). "Is it sustainable? I guess it's sustainable".
