A young boy from Cleveland was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head after someone opened fire on his mother's auto in an apparent road rage incident.

On Monday morning, investigators were still trying to find the two suspects who fired the shots. A white Pontiac was blocking the road as she approached West 28th Street and Division Avenue.

She honked her horn to pass a vehicle.

The Pontiac, which had tinted windows, let her through, but then began following her. Someone inside the auto then opened fire. One of two men inside the auto opened fire at the woman's SUV on Interstate-90 near Dead Man's Curve, according to police.

The boy's mother, who has not been named, was driving with her son and seven-year-old daughter in the auto when she came across a vehicle blocking an intersection in Cleveland, Ohio. Police said the boy was struck in the head.

Hill immediately exited the freeway to request assistance.

The boy was rushed to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove shrapnel from his head.

Preliminary information suggests that the bullets did not penetrate the boy's brain.

The witnesses were also able to identify one of the assailants as "John John", who lives nearby.

A little boy is recovering after being shot in what police are characterizing as a road rage incident.
