Blizzard has announced that the upcoming Hearthstone expansion, Knights of the Frozen Throne, will release August 10. These expensive legendary cards, once played, will launch a powerful Battlecry and transform the player's Hero into a Death Knight version of themselves while also changing the player's Hero power. Packed full of new features and cards, the expansion will be available for download next week, on Thursday, August 10th.

Blizzard is also bringing back single-player content, like that found in previous expansions, with the exception being Journey to Un'Goro. For this expansion, you'll get a bunch of stuff for free: there's a prologue, two wings of three boss fights each, and a final battle against the Lich King.

Are you looking forward to this new expansion?

This set takes its inspiration from one of Warcraft's greatest villains, the Lich King Arthas, and the World of Warcraft raid centered around him, Icecrown Citadel.

Knights of the Frozen Throne will introduce a new mechanic called Lifesteal, which will heal players for the amount of damage that cards with the keyword deals.

Place talks about two new hero cards in the video posted below, Malfurion the Pestilent, and Uther of the Ebon Blade. Players can prepurchase a 50-card pack for $49.99. We haven't yet gotten a look at every new card from the expansion, but more than half of them have now been revealed.
