New York Giants slot receiver Sterling Shepard was forced to leave practice on a cart with an apparent leg injury today, according to Dan Duggan of NJ Advanced Media.

"He put his foot in the ground and rolled his ankle", McAdoo said.

Had Shepard gone down with a major injury, the Giants offense would have been dealt a serious blow.

Counting Shepard and the aforementioned Beckham Jr., Lewis and Marshall, the Giants now have 12 wide receivers on the roster.

For a little while, no one really knew what was going on. According to Jordan Raanan, he needed to be carted off of the field.

Shepard is coming off an outstanding rookie campaign with the Giants.

"He looks - right now - to be in good position as the team's starting running back", Maiocco wrote of Hyde, noting his continued improvement in adapting to new head coach Kyle Shanahan's run scheme. I'm happy that I got an opportunity in the end and that I did well with the opportunity.

"We have to practice football to get better at football", McAdoo said.

King faces a lot of competition in the receiving room with Beckham, Shepard and Brandon Marshall seemingly fixed as the starters. Among the other options are veteran Dwayne Harris, who was the team's primary return man last season, and three undrafted rookie free agents including former Florida State receiver Travis Rudolph. "If I'm in there, then I'm in there".

The training camp injuries keep piling up. Pierre-Paul said there was nothing wrong with him physically.
