"Responding officers let the husband know the honeymoon would be over and his new wife was going to jail", said Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans. Authorities were called to a motel in Murfreesboro, Tenn., last week after a witness reported an altercation between a groom and his new bride, still in her wedding dress, reports WTVF. It was a witness that actually pointed us in the right direction.

They said the couple had been drinking and arguing outside the motel. Once Prichard realized the gun was not loaded, she allegedly placed a round into the gun and shot into the air, forcing others to scatter.

But a witness described both of them as intoxicated and said they had spent several hours arguing.

A newlywed allegedly pulled a pistol from under her wedding dress and pointed it at her husband's head, just hours after getting married.

This bride had a lot more than a garter belt hiding underneath her wedding dress.

However, the gun was not loaded when it was aimed at her husband.

While at first the couple denied having being involved in the almost fatal event, police recovered shell casings and further evidence, which led to Prichard's arrest.

She was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault. Officers recovered the weapon in a bathroom. She was later released on $18,000 bond.
