Martellus Bennett slept on floor next to Packers locker Tuesday night

In fact, I like to sleep on the ground from time to time.

Green Bay Packers rookie linebacker Vince Biegel will start training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list as he continues to recover from foot surgery. So the Packers needed to report on Tuesday, but the Packers' TE didn't get into the dorm room at the local university they were staying at.

And so it was that Bennett found himself locked out of the entrance to his dorm at St. Norbert College. Looking for a place to spend the night, he checked into the place where he'd be lacing up his cleats during home games this season: the Lambeau Field locker room.

"Honestly, I would have had to warn someone that I was going to arrive late yesterday evening", said Bennett in a video posted on his account Instagram.

Rather than sleeping outside following his tardy arrival, Bennett instead drove to Lambeau Field and slept on the floor in front his locker.

"I heard all about it", Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday morning, per ESPN. "I don't know anything about it".

You could say Martellus Bennett had an odd way to start the week of training camp.

In the story, he states he doesn't mind sleeping on the floor but joked he hopes there are no ghosts wandering around.
